Residential Garbage Collection in Machesney Park
Standard accumulation of weekly household trash is unlimited along with unlimited bulk items unless a dumpster should be considered. We do not collect any construction material with standard trash pick up. A $25.00 fee per hopper for any construction debris will apply. Please contact us for collection information on construction material.

Senior DiscountResidents 65 or older are eligible for a senior discount if they occupy the premises. Please go to the City Clerk’s office to register.
Residential Recycling in Machesney Park
Household recycling is unlimited. A brown bin is provided by Rock River Disposal to all residents. An extra charge of $8.00 per brown bin will be payable to Rock River Disposal. The use of trash cans to hold recycling is not acceptable.
Yard Waste Removal in Machesney Park
Household yard waste is unlimited. Yard waste is all grass clippings, leaves and small branches (no bigger than 4″ in diameter) from a residential property. A 50 lb. weight limit on all cans with an X and brown paper bags is enforced. All tree branches and bush trimmings need to be cut and bundled no more than 3′-5′ length. In the fall residents may rake their leaves to the curb in a long wind row for vacuuming. Please contact us for leaf vacuuming schedule. Season permitting, yard waste season runs typically from the beginning of April to the end of November.
