Rock River Disposal provides Rockton residents with a 95-gallon waste container, specifically designed to accommodate the needs of larger families and households that generate higher volumes of waste. Overage or extras can be placed in bags or personal cans not exceeding 32 gallons or 50 pounds. Replacement totes are available for $75. Households can rent an additional tote for $60 per year.

Residential Recycling Service in Belvidere
Household recycling is unlimited. Each household is supplied with a 65-gallon recycling toter, specifically designed to handle various recyclable materials efficiently. It is important to note that trash cans are not an acceptable alternative for storing or setting out recycling. Using the designated toter ensures proper collection and processing, supporting the community's commitment to sustainable practices. Replacement totes are available for $75. Households can rent an additional tote for $60 per year.
Recyclables should be placed loose in the container. They should not be bagged and no plastic bags should be included in the recycling tote.
Cardboard should be broken down to 3 ft. x 3 ft. or smaller and bundled if excessive. Do not cram other items into cardboard boxes.
Yard Waste Removal Service in Belvidere
Seasonal household yard waste service takes place each year from April through mid December. Collection of yard waste - grass clippings, leaves and small branches from a residential property from April through September is limited to 5 bags, bundles, or cans per collection day. From October through December, residents can dispose of up to 20 bags, bundles, or cans of yard waste.
All trimmings from bushes and small tree branches need to be bundled in 3 ft lengths with branches no thicker than 1inch in diameter and not weighing over 25 lbs.
No plastic bags of any kind will be accepted for pick up. There is a 50 lb. weight limit for all paper bags or cans with an X to mark them as yard waste.
Natural Christmas tree collection occurs the first two weeks of January.
Bulky Item Collection in Belvidere
Residents in the City of Belvidere can contact Rock River Disposal to request a pick up of 1 bulky item such as furniture, matresses, grills, etc per week.
- additional bulky items per pick up are charged as $35 per item
- oversized bulky items(items requiring more that 1 man to lift) are $50 per item and muist be pre-scheduled and confirmed for collection
- white goods, such as refrigerators or dishwashers, are $50 per item, paid in advance and must be pre-scheduled and confirmed for collection
For excess bulky items or house cleanouts, a roll off container rental may be needed.
